• Hand wash is positioned as a cosmetic without germ-kill claims; antibacterial or antiseptic claims can bring a product under Therapeutic Goods Administration rules. This matters on worksites where hygiene messaging is common.
• Environmental claims must not mislead under Australian Consumer Law; the ACCC has published guidance on them.
• Several states are phasing out single-use plastics, and some have signalled that small hotel toiletry bottles may be included. Check current Western Australian rules.
