Who buys amenities in East China

Purchasing decisions here are often made away from the property. International hotel groups set brand standards centrally and ask regional procurement teams to source against them. Management companies run several hotels for different owners and want one supplier who can make a house range and an owner's range side by side. Independent owners of boutique and resort properties buy directly. Amenity distributors bundle our liquids with locally sourced items for their own hotel clients. Shanghai and the disposable-items rules

Shanghai was among the first cities to apply rules asking hotels not to actively provide disposable items such as toothbrushes, combs, razors, shower caps, shoe brushes and nail files. Many hotels in the city also moved shampoo and shower gel into dispensers at the same time. We do not make those accessory items, but we do make the dispensers and 5 L refills that replace single-use bottles. Rules are set and updated locally, so check the current position for your district before you finalise a room specification.

Scent direction for East China

Hangzhou is known for osmanthus and green tea, and Suzhou for jasmine and its classical gardens. These make natural starting points for a signature scent, handled softly so they read as fresh and calm rather than sweet. A quiet bamboo or white tea accord suits Shanghai business hotels that want something clean and neutral. Summers in the region are hot and humid, so many hotels choose a light, fast-rinsing shower gel; the cool, damp winters suit a slightly richer body lotion. We can make both under one scent.

Labels, documents and claims

Products sold or supplied in mainland China need Chinese-language labels that follow the cosmetic labelling measures, including the full ingredient list in standard Chinese names and the domestic responsible person's details. We print the artwork you or your responsible person supply or approve, on packaging we make and decorate in-house; see custom packaging. Whether complimentary hotel products need the full retail label is a question to settle with your responsible person.

Keep claims simple. Efficacy claims must be substantiated, and some claims can move a product into the special category. We supply the formula, ingredient list and manufacturing documentation, and can make formulas available as dermatologically tested with reports on request. Ranges that set us apart

East China already has capable local amenity makers, and a hotel that only needs a standard range may be well served by them. Buyers come to us when they want the same signature range in Shanghai as in their properties elsewhere in Asia, a Halal-certified range for Muslim guests, or an Ayurvedic-inspired spa range with massage oils for a resort in Hangzhou or Suzhou. Getting products to Shanghai

We export from India by sea or air and prepare commercial documents for your consignee and customs broker.
