In short
Harrods Health manufactures private-label hotel toiletries and spa massage oils for Sri Lankan city hotels, beach resorts, hill-country bungalows and wellness retreats. We make shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and hand wash in minis, tubes, sachets, dispenser bottles and 5 L refills, and ship from India to Colombo for your importer to clear.
This page covers what is specific to Sri Lanka. For the regional overview, see our Maldives and Sri Lanka hub; for the full product list, see hotel toiletries.
Four kinds of property, four briefs
Sri Lanka packs a wide range of hotel types into a small island. A single group can own a Colombo business hotel, a south-coast beach resort and a tea-country bungalow, and each needs something different.
| Property type | What usually matters | Formats that tend to fit |
|---|---|---|
| Colombo city hotels | Consistency, fast turnover, corporate guests | Dispenser bottles with 5 L refills, minis for suites |
| South and east coast beach resorts | After-sun comfort, humidity, sand and salt | Dispensers, body lotion, generous minis |
| Hill-country tea bungalows | Small room counts, a sense of place, cooler nights | Minis and tubes with a tea or spice scent |
| Ayurveda and wellness retreats | Herbal character, treatment oils, careful claims | Massage oils, body lotion, dispensers |
Colombo city hotels
Business hotels value reliability over novelty. A clean, recognisable scent, dispensers that are easy for housekeeping to refill, and a supply that does not change batch to batch are usually the priorities. We fill 5 L refills for dispenser programmes and print your branding on every format. Suites and executive floors often keep minis or tubes for a more personal touch, while public washrooms run on hand wash from dispensers.
Beach resorts on the south and east coasts
Coastal properties face the same tropical humidity and salt air as island resorts, with the advantage of road access for top-ups. Body lotion gets heavy use after a day in the sun, so it is worth choosing a texture guests like in the heat. Shower gel and shampoo also work harder here, because guests rinse off sand, salt and sun cream several times a day. Our guide on hotel toiletries for tropical and coastal climates covers formula and storage choices.
Tea-country bungalows
Hill-country properties are often small and heritage-led. Guests look for a sense of place, and a signature scent built around tea, cinnamon or lemongrass can carry that from the bathroom to the lounge. Smaller room counts make a dedicated scent more practical than many owners assume, because the minimum order is quoted per item.
Ayurveda wellness retreats
Ayurveda is central to Sri Lanka's wellness offer. Many retreats want bathroom and spa products with herbal character that match their treatments. We manufacture spa massage oils and herbal-inspired body care; see massage oil manufacturing.
A note on claims. Harrods Health holds an AYUSH licence in India, which relates to manufacturing Ayurvedic products under Indian rules. It does not by itself decide how a product is classified in Sri Lanka. A product sold as a cosmetic with a herbal scent is treated differently from one that makes Ayurvedic or medicinal claims. Agree the intended classification with your importer before you fix the label wording, and keep cosmetic products to cosmetic claims.
Scents that suit Sri Lanka
Hotels often choose coconut, frangipani, lemongrass, cinnamon and tea, which connect with the island's gardens, spice history and estates. Treat these as starting points rather than rules; some properties prefer a quieter, fresher profile.
Import basics
A local importer of record clears the goods at Colombo. Sri Lanka's National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) oversees cosmetics as well as medicines, and your importer will know what registration or approval it requires at the time. English labels are common in the hotel trade; check locally whether Sinhala or Tamil text is needed for your products. Some hotels ask for Halal certification, which we hold. See our certifications.
Shipping to Colombo
Colombo is a short sea route from Indian ports and one of the region's main transhipment hubs. We pack for export and prepare documents for your forwarder, then agree timing per order. Read more on fulfilment and export or browse the hotel amenities range.

Hotel Amenities Supplier for Sri Lanka Hotels FAQ
Q.Do you ship hotel toiletries to Sri Lanka?
Yes. We export private-label toiletries and spa massage oils from India to Colombo, where your importer of record clears the goods.
Q.Can you make Ayurvedic spa products for Sri Lankan retreats?
We make spa massage oils and herbal-inspired body care, and hold an AYUSH licence in India. How a product is classified in Sri Lanka depends on its claims, so agree this with your importer first.
Q.Who regulates cosmetics in Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka's National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) oversees cosmetics. Your importer should confirm current registration requirements before you order.
Q.Which scents work for Sri Lankan hotels?
Coconut, frangipani, lemongrass, cinnamon and tea are popular starting points. Many properties adapt one of these into a signature scent.
Q.Can a small tea-country bungalow have its own branded amenities?
Often, yes. We quote the minimum order per item, so smaller properties can ask for a quotation on a short branded range.
