In short
Harrods Health develops private label incense to your brief: masala and dipped sticks, cones, backflow cones and dhoop, in the fragrance, format, colour and packaging you specify. We quote per brief and work through samples with you before any production run, so importers, wholesalers and gift retailers can build a range under their own brand from one facility in Ambala, India.
Incense sits naturally beside our candle and home fragrance work. If you are planning a wider home fragrance programme, our Candles, Incense & Potpourri category page shows how the three ranges fit together, and our candle manufacturing page covers the candle side.
Incense formats we develop
Every format below is developed to your brief. The options are ones we discuss with you; we confirm what is practical once we understand your market, your price point and your packaging plan.
| Format | What it is | Points we agree with you |
|---|---|---|
| Masala sticks | A paste of plant materials and fragrance rolled onto a bamboo core | Fragrance, base colour, stick length, core colour |
| Dipped sticks | Plain base sticks dipped in a fragrance blend | Fragrance, base colour, stick length, pack count |
| Cones | Pressed cones that burn from the tip down | Fragrance, cone size, colour, pack count |
| Backflow cones | Hollow cones designed for backflow burners | Fragrance, cone size, colour, burner pairing in gift sets |
| Dhoop | Coreless sticks or pieces made without a bamboo centre | Fragrance, shape, length, colour |
What goes into your brief
A clear brief shortens development. These are the points we ask buyers to think about before the first call.
Fragrance
Tell us the scent direction you want, whether that is a single note, a classic blend or a fragrance matched to an existing candle or diffuser line. We can work from our own essential oils and essential oil blends, or develop a direction with you. If you already sell diffuser oils or candles, we can discuss keeping the incense close to that scent family so the range reads as one collection on shelf.
Base and format
Choose between masala and dipped sticks, cones, backflow cones or dhoop, or a mix across the range. We discuss base colour, stick or cone size and the burn format that suits your customers and the burners you plan to sell alongside.
Colour and finish
Base colour and core colour change how a product looks through a window or a tube. We share samples so you can judge colour against your packaging before you commit.
Packaging
Incense is often sold on presentation as much as scent. We develop boxes, tubes, sleeves, pouches and gift sets with you, including sets that pair incense with burners, candles or potpourri. Our custom packaging team handles printed cartons and rigid boxes, and our sachets and gift sets page shows how we build multi-item sets.
Labelling
Labelling rules for incense differ by destination market and can change. We print the label content you approve. You or your importer remain responsible for confirming what your market requires, such as safety warnings, contact details, language and any hazard information. Our incense export labelling and safety guide sets out the questions to raise with your importer or a compliance adviser.
How development works
- Brief. You share your market, formats, scent directions, packaging ideas and target retail price.
- Samples. We prepare samples against the brief so you can assess scent, burn, colour and presentation.
- Refinement. We adjust fragrance, colour and packaging from your feedback until the range is right.
- Quotation. We quote per brief once formats, packaging and quantities are agreed.
- Production and dispatch. We produce the approved range and coordinate export documents with your forwarder through our fulfilment and export service.
Who we work with
Our incense programme is aimed at trade buyers: importers, wholesalers, department stores, home and gift retailers, and brands adding incense to an existing home fragrance range. Many of these buyers source the category at trade fairs; the IHGF Delhi Fair, for example, runs a Candles, Incense & Potpourri category for buyers. If you are comparing suppliers in India, our buyer guide to sourcing candles, incense and potpourri from India lists the questions worth asking any manufacturer. Our importers and retailers page explains how we work with trade accounts across our wider product range.
Our facility
Harrods Health Private Limited operates from 237/6 Sultanpur Chowk, Jarot Road, Ambala Chandigarh Highway, Ambala City, Haryana 134007, India. The facility holds a state FDA cosmetic manufacturing licence (No. 1151-ISM (HR)), is ISO certified and GMP-compliant, and holds HACCP, Halal, Kosher and AYUSH certifications. It is also a US FDA registered facility. These certifications relate to the facility and our cosmetic and wellness manufacturing; they are not specific to incense. See quality and certifications for details.
We make no claims about health, wellbeing or spiritual benefits for any incense we produce. We describe incense by its scent, format and presentation, and we recommend you do the same in your own marketing.
Building a wider range
Incense often sells best as part of a set. Buyers frequently pair it with candles, reed diffusers, potpourri and dried flowers. Our potpourri manufacturing page covers dried botanical blends, and we can discuss gift sets that combine several categories in one carton. For raw materials alone, see our raw materials page.
