In short
Harrods Health develops private label candles, reed diffusers, room sprays, incense and potpourri to your brief at our facility in Ambala, India. We work with importers, wholesalers, department stores and gift and home retailers who want their own branded home fragrance range, from scent and format through to packaging and export documents. Every project is quoted per brief, so you tell us what you need and we tell you what we can make.
The IHGF Delhi Fair runs a "Candles, Incense & Potpourri" category for buyers. This page follows the same grouping, so you can see in one place what we develop in each format and where to read more.
What we develop to your brief
Each category below has its own page with more detail on formats, scent options and the questions we ask at the start of a project.
Candles
We develop private label candles in the formats buyers ask for most:
- Container candles in glass, ceramic or tin vessels
- Pillar candles
- Votive candles
- Tealights
- Wax melts
Wax type, wick, vessel, fragrance and finish are options we discuss with you. If you are planning a full collection, our candle range development guide sets out the decisions in order.
Reed diffusers and room sprays
Reed diffusers and room sprays sit naturally beside a candle range and share its scent story. We also supply diffuser oils for buyers who fill their own bottles. For hotels and hospitality groups, see our guide to hotel candles, reed diffusers and signature scent.
Incense
We develop private label incense in three main forms:
- Incense sticks
- Incense cones
- Dhoop
Fragrance, burn format, pack count and outer packaging are agreed with you during development.
Potpourri
We develop private label potpourri using our own sourcing of dried flowers and botanicals:
- Dried-flower potpourri blends
- Scented sachets
- Refresher oils to revive a blend
Blend composition, colour palette and scent are developed to your brief. Sachet formats are covered on our sachets and gift sets page.
For importers, wholesalers and retailers
Buying for a market outside India means more than choosing a scent. You need a supplier who understands that your products must meet the rules where they are sold, and who can give you the documents your importer or compliance adviser will ask for. Our importers and retailers page explains how we work with trade buyers, and our guide to sourcing candles, incense and potpourri from India covers what to check before you place an order.
One supplier across all three categories means one development process, one point of contact and a consistent brand across your range.
Scent development and fragrance documents
Scent is usually where a home fragrance range succeeds or fails. We develop fragrance to your brief, whether you want to match an existing brand scent, build a seasonal collection or start from a mood board. We also hold raw materials such as essential oils and essential oil blends, which you can read about on our raw materials page.
Fragrance suppliers issue documents such as safety data sheets and, where relevant, IFRA conformity information. Many importing markets use these documents to work out the hazard labelling a scented product needs. We discuss with you which documents your market and importer require, and we do not finalise labels until that is agreed.
Packaging and gift sets
Packaging is where your brand shows on the shelf. We offer custom packaging developed with you, from candle boxes and incense sleeves to potpourri bags and gift boxes. Candles, a diffuser and a potpourri sachet can be combined into a single gift set, which suits department store and seasonal gifting ranges. Glass options are shown in our bottles collection.
Export market guides
Rules for candles, incense and potpourri vary by market and change over time. Our guides set out what we understood at the time of writing, with links to official sources. They are not legal advice, so check the detail with your importer or a compliance adviser.
